Carrick Josephine Riesling

The Josephine Riesling had its origins in our private (pirate) bottlings of 2004 and 2005 where we found that an early bottling of Riesling with higher residual sugar was both balanced and delicious. It's now very much part of our established range.

Not for sale, please contact us for more information.

Residual Sugar: 56 g/L
Alcohol: 9.0%
Harvest Dates: 20th April 2015

The grapes for this wine come solely from our BioGro certified organic, Lot 8 block. The wine has been whole bunch pressed and fermented by wild yeasts in tank.

There is an immediate intensity to this wine that is powerful yet at the same time clean and balanced. This intense weight and texture lingers in the mouth and slowly reveals bright juicy mandarin characters that increase into concentrated tangerine flesh flavours.

The low alcohol content makes this a perfect lunch time wine or an evening aperitif. We often serve it at the winery accompanied by blue cheese and gingerbread.A lively bright floral nose with orange blossom and peach characters.
This wine will age well into the future.
